RenaKare is a potassium supplement and is indicated for use in potassium deficient states in cats and dogs. Low blood potassium is a serious condition and animals with prolonged vomiting or diarrhea should be seen by a veterinarian.

Potassium gluconate USP......................2 mEq (468 mg)

Each gram (powder) contains:
Postassium gluconate USP....................2 mEq (468 mg)

Each 2.34 grams (gel) contains:
Postassium gluconate USP....................2 mEq (468 mg)

Dosage & Administration

The recommended dosage for adult cats and dogs is:

Tablets

1 tablet per 10 lbs of body weight, twice daily.

Powder

¼ teaspoon per 10 lbs of body weight, twice daily.

Gel

½ teaspoon per 10 lbs of body weight, twice daily.

If you miss giving a dose

If you miss a dose, give it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to the regular schedule. Do not give two doses at once.

If you overdose the pet

If you know or suspect your pet has an overdose, contact your veterinarian immediately.

What should I avoid while giving RenalKare to my pet

Consult to your veterinarian before giving potassium supplementation with any other medication, including vitamins and supplements, enalapril, digoxin, spironolactone, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as aspirin, etodolac, deracoxib (Deramaxx), or carprofen (Rimadyl), since interaction may occur.
