Potassium citrate can be used to prevent the formation of a type of urinary bladder and kidney stones (calcium oxalate). In animals with chronic kidney disease, it can be used to increase blood potassium levels and decrease buildup of acids in the urine and blood for pets.

This compounded prescription contains Soft Chewable Tabs that could melt at extreme high temperatures. Be careful that the tablets are not exposed to temperatures above 115 degrees Fahrenheit.
